BEIJING,lucah pak daud dan menantu June 25 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese mainland spokesperson on Wednesday slammed Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities for undermining economic cooperation across the Taiwan Strait.
Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, made the remarks in response to a media query concerning the DPP authorities' recent addition of mainland chip research and development companies, including Huawei and SMIC, to their "export control list."
Such technological blockades cannot halt the progress of technological innovation in the mainland, and attempts to "decouple and sever supply chains" will not hold back industrial upgrading in the mainland, Zhu stated.
Any actions by the DPP authorities that undermine cross-Strait economic cooperation will only damage the competitiveness of Taiwan enterprises and limit Taiwan's own economic development space, she said.
"We will take effective measures to resolutely safeguard the normal order of cross-Strait economic and trade exchanges and cooperation, and protect the interests and well-being of compatriots on both sides of the Strait," Zhu said.
