In Minnesota, nine people were injured when a man who had links to Islamic State (ISIS) went on a stabbing spree at a mall. In New York, a pressure cooker bomb filled with shrapnel exploded in the neighborhood of Chelsea on Saturday night and another bomb was found a few blocks away, but removed before it exploded. In New Jersey, there was a bombing on Saturday night at Seaside Park and an explosion Sunday night after the discovery of five devices in a backpack.
The weekend terror spree was capped off Monday afternoon with a shoot out in Linden, New Jersey and the capture of Ahmad Rahami. He is now a suspect in the New York and New Jersey bombings.

One officer who worked to capture Rahami was shot in the vest while another was struck by glass, which was embedded in his head. Both officers are not in critical condition.
"These are brave women and men, they are our country's finest," Biden said. "You've heard the phrase used so much over the last decade: They are always running toward danger, always watching our backs."
Biden, who was at the event to speak about his research initiative called Moonshot Cancer, made it clear these attacks do not weaken the mindset of those living in Minnesota, New York and New Jersey.
"Folks, terror's all about getting us to change the way we live our lives. To close up rather than remain open," he said. "Terror is about changing our behavior. But we are America, we never bow, we never ever break. We are unyielding, we own the finish line. It is as simple as that. They cannot change our behavior. We never bend, we never cower, we never yield and we endure.
"So although it is a tragedy, I am convinced we will over time end this scourge and bring these folks to justice."
