Roger Stone just can't quit Instagramming.
Now it seems his inability to stay off the app may land him in serious trouble for violating a gag order in his current case stemming from the Mueller investigation.
Stone posted the image in question to his Instagram stories on ??? ??Sunday. It's a play on the Disney classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit, except with Stone subbed in for the titular bunny. It's an obvious joke, one so bad it deserves at least an eyeroll.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.
But it may be worth more than that. It may, in fact, be bad enough to get him some time in jail because it appears to be a violation of a gag order laid out by presiding judge Amy Berman Jackson. The order forbids anyone involved from posting stuff to social media that would "pose a substantial likelihood of material prejudice to this case."
The gag order was in response to a photo Stone posted on Instagram that featured an image of Judge Jackson contained within crosshairs of a gun which, well, yeah, that's going to get you in deep shit with the law every time.
Stone has remained active on social media in slightly less threatening ways, proclaiming his innocence, including using the above meme to -- what else? -- sell t-shirts.

But this new post, which disappeared from Stone's account either via deletion or because the 24-hour limit on Instagram stories passed, was enough to get Mueller's team riled up.
They posted a filling with Judge Jackson pointing out Stone's meme. In the filing, Mueller doesn't offer any opinion on the image, he's just making the judge aware of it in an "I'm not saying but I'm just saying" sort of way.
That Mueller even pointed it out is worth noting because his office did nothing when Stone texted BuzzFeed News denying allegations made my Michael Cohen during his recent congressional testimony.

Stone may have also violated the gag order by publishing on Friday a new edition of a book he had previously released, titled The Myth of Russian Collusion: The Inside Story of How Donald Trump REALLY Won. Stone's team insists that because the new parts of the book were published online in January, before the gag order, this isn't a violation.
It's hard to believe a man who idolizes Richard Nixon so much he has a back tattoo of the former president would be involved in such chicanery, I know. But here we are.
