LONG BEACH — “What’s that smell?”
For Long Beach residents living in the Westside, Cambodia Town, and Downtown area, this seems to be a common question.
Great Leap will perform “The Air We Breathe,” a collection of skits based on the experiences of community members, at the Manazar Gamboa Community Theater, 1323 Gundry Ave., Long Beach, on Friday, Feb. 28, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, March 1, at 4 p.m.; and Sunday, March 2, at 4 p.m.
Written and performed by Ariel Joshua Domingo, Erin Foley, June Kaewsith, Khiev Khamsan, Sambo Sak, Sophie Oun Sam, Buoy Taing, Or Try, Taylor Thomas and guests. Directed by Dan Kwong, Nobuko Miyamoto, and Young-ae Park.
Free admission. The show is approximately 45 minutes without an intermission. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Audience members will become engaged with the resources available to help combat air pollution.

EndOil invited Great Leap to Long Beach to create a performance about how living in this port city affects residents’ health and well-being. “The Air We Breathe” was created through Great Leap’s collaboratory workshop process.
