Call of Duty has pretty much always had microtransactions involved. You had to buy Map Packs in older games like Call of Duty 4 to access new content, but the focus has switched to skins and weapon blueprints in recent years.?
Article continues after adThe increased focus on microtransactions has annoyed plenty of players. Many have urged the devs to “read the room” and put the new cosmetics to one side in order to fix some lingering issues with Black Ops 6.?
There has also been complaints about the theming of certain bundles, especially in Season 3 with an increased number of 4/20-related cosmetics. Yet, as Season 3 Reloaded has rolled out, players are concerned that the devs have ‘ripped off’ another game.?

“Idk if anyone’s said this yet but did they just completely rip off High on Life?” Redditor Hour_Gas3538 said, comparing it to one of the guns from the Justin Roiland game.?
“Lol I had to double check the sub cause when I scrolled past the picture I deadass thought it was from High on Life,” one said. “That was the first thing I noticed as soon as I saw a glimpse of it in the trailer smh,” another added. “So glad someone else noticed this,” another commented.?

As noted, the devs have come under fire a fair bit in recent months for their focus on cosmetics. Players have even blasted them for the use of AI to create new in-game art.?
The complaints are unlikely to sway the devs away from similar cosmetics. After all, they’ve got to be popular if they keep releasing them.
