NRG came from behind to beat Liquid 2-1 and ポルノライブbook a spot in the StarSeries i-League Season 5 semi-finals.

The playoffs in Kiev began with a North American showdown between two teams who had faced off in the first Swiss round, with Liquid running out 2-0 victors in convincing fashion. This time around, however, the match would have a very different outcome, despite the current No.6 side in the world winning the first map convincingly.

Liquid got off to a flying start on Inferno, the opening map of the series, and cruised to an 8-0 lead on the CT side after exerting great map control in the banana area. Vincent "?Brehze?" Cayonte then gave NRG a much-needed round after winning a 1v1 gundown with just 1 HP. Liquid still tried to regain control of the game, but any round won by them was immediately countered by NRG, who would manage to cut the deficit to five rounds by the end of the half.

NRG picked up the second pistol round of the game after recovering from a two-man deficit, but things quickly went awry for them as they got shut down by Russel "?Twistzz?" Van Dulken's Desert Eagle in the following round.

A massive blunder from Liquid in the 19th round, when they lost an anti-eco round after being caught off-guard in the banana area, put NRG right back in the game, but the cs_summit 2 champions would not take long to put the game to bed.

NRG beat Liquid in a three-map series

Next up was NRG's own map pick, Nuke. Liquid once again came out the brighter of the two sides, winning a near-flawless pistol round with a triple-kill from Jonathan "?EliGE?" Jablonowski before securing three more rounds. NRG then tightened up their defence and won eight rounds straight, with Nick "?nitr0?" Cannella's tactical pauses doing little to alter the course of the game.

A 1v2 clutch from Keith "?NAF?" Markovic in the 13th round put Liquid back in the game, but the team would only be able to get one more round on the board before the end of the half, which ended with a 9-6 scoreline in NRG's favour.

The second half was a complete one-way street. NRG shut down Liquid in the pistol round with p250s to further add to their lead. The CTs simply could not keep up with NRG's fast pace and were helpless to prevent their opponents from running away with the lead.

It all came down to Train, where Jacob "?FugLy?" Medina opened up the action with a quad-kill in a retake to put NRG in the lead. Liquid only managed to respond in the fifth round, thanks to three quick kills from EliGE, but, considering how expensive the previous rounds had been for NRG, they immediately reset the CTs' economy.

That was the start of a great run from Liquid, who won five rounds straight to take the lead. NRG would not let the game slip away from them, however, and set up a strong defence in the final stages of the half, winning five of the last six rounds to take a 9-6 lead.

The second half followed the same pattern from Nuke. A triple-kill from Tsvetelin "?CeRq?" Dimitrov and a double-kill from Brehze kicked NRG further into the lead, with that pistol round powering the team to a flawless run as Liquid had no response to the Terrorists' blistering pace.
